Galatians 3

1O foolish Galatians, who bewitched you, before whose eyes Yeshua Messiah was openly set forth crucified? 2This only I would learn from you, Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Torah, or by the hearing of faith? 3Are you so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are you now perfected in the flesh? 4Did you suffer so many things in vain? if it is indeed in vain. 5He therefore who supplies the Spirit to you, and works miracles among you, does he do it by the works of the Torah, or by the hearing of faith? 6Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him for righteousness. 7Know therefore that those who are of faith, these are sons of Abraham. 8And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, In you shall all the nations be blessed. 9So then those who are of faith are blessed with the faithful Abraham. 10For as many as are of the works of the Torah are under a curse: for it is written, Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things that are written in the book of the Torah, to do them. 11Now that no man is justified by the Torah before God, is evident: for, The righteous shall live by faith; 12and the Torah is not of faith; but, He who does them shall live in them. 13Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree: 14that on the Gentiles might come the blessing of Abraham in Messiah Yeshua; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15Brothers, I speak according to the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet when it has been confirmed, no one makes it void, or adds to it. 16Now to Abraham the promises were spoken, and to his seed. He does not say, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to your seed, which is Messiah. 17Now this I say: A covenant confirmed beforehand by God, the Torah, which came four hundred and thirty years after, does not annul, so as to make the promise of no effect. 18For if the inheritance is of the Torah, it is no longer of promise: but God has granted it to Abraham by promise. 19What then is the Torah? It was added because of transgressions, until the seed should come to whom the promise has been made; and it was ordained through angels by the hand of a mediator. 20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one; but God is one. 21Is the Torah then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, truly righteousness would have been of the Torah. 22But the scripture shut up all things under sin, that the promise by faith in Yeshua Messiah might be given to those believing. 23But before faith came, we were kept in custody under Torah, shut up to the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24So that the Torah has become our guardian to bring us to Messiah, that we might be justified by faith. 25But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. 26For you are all sons of God, through faith, in Messiah Yeshua. 27For as many of you as were baptized into Messiah have put on Messiah. 28There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither slave nor free, there can be no male and female; for you are all one man in Messiah Yeshua. 29And if you are Messiah’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs according to promise.
