1but Yeshua went to the mount of Olives. 2And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3And the scribes and the Pharisees bring a woman taken in adultery; and having set her in the midst, 4they say to him, Teacher, this woman has been taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now in the Torah Moses commanded us to stone such: what then do you say of her? 6And this they said, testing him, that they might have something of which to accuse him. But Yeshua stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground. 7But when they continued asking him, he raised himself up, and said to them, He who is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8And again he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground. 9And they, when they heard it, went out one by one, beginning from the eldest, even to the last: and Yeshua was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the midst. 10And Yeshua raised himself up, and said to her, Woman, where are they? did no man condemn you? 11And she said, No man, Lord. And Yeshua said, Neither do I condemn you: go your way; from now on sin no more.] 12Again therefore Yeshua spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world: he who follows me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life. 13The Pharisees therefore said to him, You bear witness of yourself; your witness is not true. 14Yeshua answered and said to them, Even if I bear witness of myself, my witness is true; for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from, or where I am going. 15You judge after the flesh; I judge no man. 16And even if I judge, my judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent me. 17And indeed in your Torah it is written, that the witness of two men is true. 18I am he who bears witness of myself, and the Father who sent me bears witness of me. 19They said therefore to him, Where is your Father? Yeshua answered, You know neither me, nor my Father: if you knew me, you would know my Father also. 20These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man took him; because his hour had not yet come. 21He said therefore again to them, I go away, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: where I go, you cannot come. 22The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, because he says, Where I go, you cannot come? 23And he said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this world. 24I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins: for unless you believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins. 25They said therefore to him, Who are you? Yeshua said to them, Even that which I have also spoken to you from the beginning. 26I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you: however, he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I speak to the world. 27They did not perceive that he spoke to them of the Father. 28Yeshua therefore said, When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you shall know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself, but as the Father taught me, I speak these things. 29And he who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone; for I always do the things that are pleasing to him. 30As he spoke these things, many believed in him. 31Yeshua therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, If you abide in my word, then you are truly my disciples; 32and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33They answered him, We are Abraham’s seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how do you say, You shall be made free? 34Yeshua answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin. 35And the bondservant does not abide in the house forever: the son abides forever. 36If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. 37I know that you are Abraham’s seed; yet you seek to kill me, because my word has no free course in you. 38I speak the things which I have seen with my Father: and you also do the things which you heard from your father. 39They answered and said to him, Our father is Abraham. Yeshua says to them, If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. 40But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God: this Abraham did not do. 41You do the works of your father. They said to him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. 42Yeshua said to them, If God were your Father, you would love me: for I came forth and have come from God; for neither have I come of myself, but he sent me. 43Why do you not understand my speech? It is because you cannot hear my word. 44You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45But because I say the truth, you do not believe me. 46Which of you convicts me of sin? If I say truth, why do you not believe me? 47He who is of God hears the words of God: for this reason you do not hear them, because you are not of God. 48The Jews answered and said to him, Do we not say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon? 49Yeshua answered, I do not have a demon; but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me. 50But I do not seek my own glory: there is one who seeks and judges. 51Truly, truly, I say to you, If a man keeps my word, he shall never see death. 52The Jews said to him, Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and you say, If a man keeps my word, he shall never taste of death. 53Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? and the prophets died: whom do you make yourself? 54Yeshua answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father who glorifies me; of whom you say, that he is your God; 55and you have not known him: but I know him; and if I should say, I do not know him, I shall be like you, a liar: but I know him, and keep his word. 56Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day; and he saw it, and was glad. 57The Jews therefore said to him, You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham? 58Yeshua said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham was born, I am. 59They took up stones therefore to cast at him: but Yeshua hid himself, and went out of the temple.
